Episode 65: Your Authentic Power
In the final episode, I leave you with a message that I am bringing out to the world, on stages and in immersive experiences and retreats: we are responsible for creating the world we want to live in and that change starts from within. It has been the message of this podcast since the beginning and it still needs to be heard.
What’s in this episode for you:
How many DEI initiatives are missing the mark
Why separating ourselves from those we don’t like is not the answer
The only place to start if we’re going to make progress
Why bringing people closer will shatter fear and divisiveness
My dream for our workplaces, communities, and schools
Much gratitude for all the people, including you, who made this circle sacred
Tools for change:
To truly become inclusive we need to condition our bodies to become okay with differences. These questions will help you see where your growing edges are and where you may want to lean in to strengthen your “be the change” superpowers. When I ask “are you okay?” I mean what happens in your body in these circumstances? Do you go into fight, flight, freeze or fawn or do you stay present, open-hearted and curious?
Are you okay with people not behaving the way you need them to act?
Are you okay with not caretaking other people and instead giving them their power back?
Are you okay to be with someone who has different behavior or disruptive behavior? Do you see yourself in them?
Are you okay to listen to the people that have harmed you and having them listen to you in return?
