Jill Parker moved to Victoria BC in 2016 with her partner and 3 kids after she retired from the Abbotsford police department with 19 years of service. She currently works full-time as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker in Private Practice. Most of her clients are First Responders. In her career as a police constable, she practiced trauma-informed policing. Jill is an advocate for police reform and modernization. Find Jill here: Website.
Les Sylven is a former police officer and Leadership Studies PhD candidate at the University of Victoria. His research explores policing with Canadian police leaders who have established meditation practices. He is passionate about examining how contemplative practices and mindfulness might play a role in the next evolution of policing.
